SHORT sightedness is a common condition that affects millions of people in this country.
Most just accept the fact they are destined to wear glasses or contact lenses for the rest of their days, but over the last decade corrective laser eye surgery has become increasingly popular.
Having been a member of the four-eyed community since myopia struck in my teens, I like so many others had simply become used to the idea that specs were an inevitable part of life.
I had always been aware of laser surgery, but a mixture of fear and laziness had so far prevented me from going under the knife.
