Panamanian Foreign Minister to Visit Cuba
During his two-day visit, the Panamanian vice-minister will also evaluate the progress of the Operation Miracle program promoted by Cuba and Venezuela that provides low-income Latin Americans with corrective eye-surgery.
In December of last year, an agreement was reached that will bring 12,000 Panamanians to Cuba to receive free eye-surgery. So far, 700 Panamanians patients have already recovered their eyesight thanks to the Operation Miracle program.
The Panamanian foreign minister will visit one of the hospitals participating in the eye-surgery program and meet a group of Panamanian students studying Medicine in Cuba.
