Chanda Jones's LASIK Surgery.

Before Chanda Jones opted to have LASIK surgery on her eyes, her vision was 20/800, which made her legally blind according to the American Optometric Association. Now, she loves that she can see without glasses or contacts.

Hindsight is 20/20, but Chanda Jones's vision wasn't prior to her decision to get LASIK surgery. Jones began wearing glasses when she was 7 years old. It wasn't long after that her thick lenses began protruding past the edges of her frames. "Even when you cut them down with the high-index (polycarbonate) lenses, they were still very thick," Jones, 25, said.

Chanda isn't sure how her eyes got so weak when both parents' vision was far better than hers. Her mother, Joan, wears reading glasses, and father, Bill, has a vision contact prescription of -5.5, which is almost half the prescription she once wore.
